Kids should not be priced out of sports.

But they are...
I don't believe “that's just the way it is” should be the end of the conversation.
About Us

Level Playing Field Arkansas was created from a simple belief:

A family's financial circumstances shouldn't determine how far a young athlete can pursue the sport they love.

I'm a Sylvan Hills alumna and a local sports mom. After a recent junior high volleyball tryout, I kept thinking about the girls who love the sport but may not have the same opportunities outside of school. Instead of accepting that “that's just how it is,” I decided to try to do something about it.

Tho costs don't affect every family in the same way. Some young athletes have access to extensive training and competition opportunities outside of school, while others have fewer options simply because of what their families can afford.

Level Playing Field Arkansas was created to help close that gap.

Why This Matters

Athletics can shape much more than what happens on the court.

Through athletics, students learn:

  • Discipline

  • Leadership

  • Accountability

  • Teamwork

  • Time management

  • Resilience

  • Goal setting

  • Confidence

These skills help young people succeed in school, in their careers, and in life. Athletics also create pathways to higher education.

For many students, sports provide opportunities for college recruitment, scholarships, and educational experiences that might not otherwise be available. Access to quality coaching, development opportunities, and competitive play can open doors that impact a student's future.

When we invest in young athletes, we are investing in future leaders, professionals, mentors, and community members.

Dyana King

I'm a Sylvan Hills alumna, a loud local sports mom, and someone who has become pretty passionate about making youth sports more accessible.

After a school volleyball tryout brought me face-to-face with some of the challenges young athletes and families can encounter, I started asking a simple question:

What can we do when a talented kid wants to keep playing, but the cost is a barrier?

Instead of accepting that “that's just how it is,” I decided to build something.

Level Playing Field Arkansas is my attempt to connect local athletes with the community support they need to keep playing, training and developing.

Dyana's Motto

Fairness, competition, and development can all co-exist.
